Jackup West Prospero to drill offshore Sudan

Red Sea Petroleum Operating Co. has awarded Seadrill a $49.9-million contract for use of the jackup West Prospero offshore Sudan.

STAVANGER -- Red Sea Petroleum Operating Co. has awarded Seadrill a $49.9-million contract for use of the jackup West Prospero offshore Sudan. Mobilization is scheduled for December.

The drilling program is expected to last around six months. West Prospero, currently idle in Indonesia, will be upgraded with high pressure, high temperature facilities before transferring to Sudan on a heavy-lift vessel.
