Lundin exploration program approved

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Lundin Norway’s request to drill exploration well 16/4-5 in the Norwegian North Sea using the semisubmersible Transocean Winner.

OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has approved Lundin Norway’s request to drill exploration well 16/4-5 in the Norwegian North Sea using the semisubmersible Transocean Winner. Depending on the result, Lundin may also drill a side track and perform well testing.

The program is expected to last 50 and 86 days. The location is in production license 359 in a water depth of around 103 m (338 ft). Transocean Winner is a third-generation semisubmersible drilling facility of the GVA-4000 design, built in 1983 at the Gøtaverken Arendal yard in Gothenburg, Sweden.
