Offshore Staff
LONDON -- The Banda NW appraisal well in PSC B, offshore Mauritania, has reached TD encountering gas sands, according to Premier Oil.
The well was sidetracked into PSC A reaching 2,727 m (8,947 ft) TD. Oil and gas intervals were encountered as predicted and similar to those seen in the discovery well Banda-1 approximately 2 km (1.2 mi) to the east. Results of the wireline logging indicate that the sidetrack well intersected an 85 m (279 ft) gross gas column and a 15 m (49 ft) gross oil column.
The well has been suspended and theAtwood Hunter rig will now move to the Chinguetti field for planned well intervention work.
