DUBLIN -- Tullow Oil has announced results of a second flow test on the Mahogany-2 appraisal well on the Jubilee field, offshore Ghana.
This latest test was conducted over a 23-m (75-ft) perforated interval, representing approximately 40% of the oil-bearing pay of the Upper Mahogany reservoir. The interval flowed at a rate of 4,448 b/d of 39ÚAPI oil and approximately 5.1 MMcf/d of associated natural gas on a 36/64-in. choke.
In both tests, the reported flow rates were restricted by both equipment and facilities. According to Tullow, the results confirm that Jubilee production wells should be capable of flowing at rates in excess of 20,000 b/d of oil when completed with 5 ½-in. (14-cm) tubing.
