Go-ahead for Visund Sør production drilling

OSLO, Norway – Statoil has authorization from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for production drilling on Visund Sør in the North Sea.

The semisubmersibleScarabeo V will drill and complete wells 34/8-V-1 H and 34/8-V-2 on license PL 120, with the program due to last 28 days.

Visund Sør is an oil and gas field between the Gullfaks C and Visund facilities, 125 km (77 mi) west-northwest of Bulandet in Sogn og Fjordane.

The field is being developed with asubsea template that will be tied in to the Gullfaks C complex. Water depth is about 290 m (951 ft).
