OSLO, Norway – Murphy Sarawak Oil Co. has contracted to purchase as many as 24 sets of splitter wellhead systems from Aker Solutions for $15 million.

Murphy plans to use the equipmentoffshore Sarawak, East Malaysia, in block SK 309/311. 

The splitter wellhead system allows drilling of two or more wells from a single well slot on a platform so as to reduce deck space requirements.

Engineering and project management will be in Aker Solutions’ Kuala Lumpur and Singapore offices.
