HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count decreased by one over the past week to reach 22, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Dec. 2, 2016. That number is down by three year-over-year.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the GoM rig count, falling by one to 22.
The overall US offshore rig count is also down by three year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by four week-over-week at 597, with oil rigs up by three to 477, gas rigs up by one to 119, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 140 rigs, with oil rigs down by 68, gas rigs down by 73, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
