OSLO, Norway – DNO Norge has approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for permanent plugging of wells at the Oselvar field.

Dolphin Drilling’s semisubmersible Borgland Dolphin will manage the campaign.

Oselvar is in 70 m (229 ft) water depth in PL274 in the southern Norwegian North Sea. Production started in 2021 via a subsea template connecting three horizontal wells, with the wellstream exported to Aker BP’s Ula field complex, 20 km (12.4 mi) to the northeast.

Operations ceased in May 2018 and decommissioning is due to be completed by the end of 2022.
