SINGAPOREKrisEnergy is seeking a further extension from Cambodia’s government for start-up of the Apsara oil development in block A in the Gulf of Thailand.

Earlier this year the government agreed to push back the deadline by four months to Oct. 31, 2020 before taking action (financial or otherwise, including termination).

Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the development is progressing, with all main components of the Apsara Mini Phase 1A infrastructure in place at the field location.

The jacket and topsides for the MiniPlatform have been installed and the Ingenium II production barge arrived at the field location last month.

On Oct. 29, the jackup PVD III started drilling the first of five development wells, A-03D, and batch drilling of the top-hole section of the wells is under way.

All operations personnel have been mobilized to the Apsara field location, KrisEnergy added.
