SINGAPORE – Construction has finished of the minimum facilities wellhead platform (Mini-Platform) for KrisEnergy’s Apsara oil development in Cambodia’s offshore block A.

The topsides and jacket have been loaded out from NOV’s PT Profab1 yard on Batam Island, Indonesia, and are currently sailing to the field location.

According to Kelvin Tang, KrisEnergy’s CEO and president, the company is targeting first oil from Apsara before the end of the year.

The field is in the Khmer basin in Cambodian maritime waters of the Gulf of Thailand. As production performance from this basin is unproven, development is being spread across phases to mitigate risk with analysis of collected data used for future phases.

Mini Phase 1A comprises the Mini-Platform and five development wells connected to the Ingenium II production barge for oil, gas and water processing, with a forecast peak rate of 7,500 b/d of oil.
