NASSAU, Bahamas – Bahamas Petroleum Co. (BPC) is looking to drill its first well offshore the Bahamas in late March 2020.
In August, the company entered an agreement with Seadrill concerning provision of a sixth-generation rig, and BPC has now notified the contractor of its preferred spud date.
The two parties will work over the coming weeks to confirm the rig selection, contract terms, and drilling plan.
In the meantime, BPC remains in farm-out discussions with various companies. A successful conclusion could lead to an injection of funds toward either this well or a broader work program for the offshore licenses.
