    LONDON – The semisubmersible Borgland Dolphin has spudded i3 Energy’s SA-01 appraisal well on the 197-MMbbl Serenity prospect in the UK central North Sea.

    Aside from proving hydrocarbons, i3 Energy hopes to confirm that the prospect is an extension of the Tain oil discovery in adjoining block 13/23b.

    On completion, the well will be P&A’d.

    CEO Majid Shafiq said a commercial find could be fast-tracked for development alongside Tain.
