Equinor drilling again in North Sea Sverdrup area

OSLO, Norway – Equinor has approval from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for an exploration well 3 km (1.86 mi) west of the southern part of the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea.

The semisubmersible Transocean Spitsbergen will drill well 16/5-7 in production license 502, which was awarded in February 2009.

Other partners in the license are Petoro and Aker BP.
