BOGOTA, Colombia – Shell EP Offshore Ventures Ltd. has signed an agreement with Ecopetrol to acquire a 50% operated stake in the deepwater Fuerte Sur, Purple Angel, and COL-5 blocks in the Colombian Caribbean.
Subject to government approval, the companies intend to drill a boundary hole in the area at the end of 2021.
Ecopetrol and Anadarko made gas discoveries at Kronos in 2015 and Purple Angel and Gorgon in 2017.
