ATHENS, GreeceEnergean has agreed to assume responsibility for decommissioning two shut-in gas fields in the UK southern North Sea.

The company gained majority equity stakes in Tors and Wenlock following its acquisition of Edison Exploration & Production in 2020. Tors ceased production in 2020 and Wenlock in 2022.

Alpha Petroleum, which had operated both fields, was acquired by Waldorf Production in 2022.
