Aker BP can remove redundant North Sea Ekofisk jacket

Aker BP has permission from Havtil to dispose of the steel jacket for the former Ekofisk 2/4-G riser platform in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway — Aker BP has permission from the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) to dispose of the steel jacket for the former Ekofisk 2/4-G riser platform at the Ekofisk Field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

Although the Aker BP-led Valhall Field partners owned the platform and associated pipelines, they had been operated by ConocoPhillips under an agreement with the former BPAmoco.
