This update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements, company news and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON — As part of a new management structure, Ørsted has established a new commercial organization under Rasmus Errboe, who has been appointed deputy CEO and chief commercial officer. Read more. 

Massimo Battaini has been appointed Prysmian’s new CEO and general manager. 

Neo-Oiltools, a creator of drilling performance tools for the oil and gas industry, has named Robert Borne CEO.

Skyborn Renewables has appointed Patrick Lammers CEO, effective June 1, replacing Thomas Karst. Read more. 

Storegga has appointed Tim Stedman CEO, effective May 1. He will also join Storegga’s board of directors upon assuming the role. Stedman succeeds Nick Cooper, who has led the company since 2019. Cooper has been appointed to the role of executive chair, also effective May 1. Alan Booth will be stepping down as executive chair, but he will remain on Storegga’s board of directors in a non-executive role.

FAR Ltd. has announced the resignation of Garth Campbell-Cowan as an executive director and CFO, and Claire Newstead-Sinclair, FAR’s company secretary, has been appointed to fill the CFO role. In addition, Andrew Lilley has been named non-executive director of the company.

Well-Safe Solutions has appointed its first-ever CFO. Alan McQuade assumed the CFO position in March.

McDermott has named Maurizio Coratella executive vice president and COO, effective May 1. Read more. 

Wood has named Jess Stanley president of its Americas Operations, joining the business unit’s global leadership team.

APA Corp. has updated its executive leadership team to coincide with a restructuring of its development function and the integration of the recently closed acquisition of Callon Petroleum. Steve Riney will oversee asset development functions. Dave Pursell, executive vice president of development, has left the company as a result of this restructuring. Ben Rodgers has been named senior vice president (SVP) of finance and treasurer, and Castlen Kennedy has been promoted to SVP of Corporate Affairs and Marketing. Read more. 

TGS has appointed Wadii El Karkouri executive vice president of Imaging and Technology.

bp's William Lin, who previously led regions, corporates and solutions, will now lead the gas & low carbon energy business, succeeding Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, who is retiring from bp and her executive career. Emeka Emembolu will head bp’s technology function, taking over from Leigh-Ann Russell, who is leaving bp for an external opportunity.

Hanwha Ocean has selected Philippe Levy, the former president of SBM Offshore Americas, as the president of its Offshore Business division.

ClassNK's Hayato Suga has been promoted from executive vice president to senior executive vice president. Additionally, Dr. Toshiro Arima, Masaki Matsunaga and Dr. Yoshiya Yamaguchi have been appointed as new EVPs.

Port of Aberdeen has promoted John Wilson to head of engineering, joining the executive leadership team, and Peter Suttie to operations manager. In addition, Benji Morrison has joined as the new harbour master.

NextGeo, a marine geosciences and offshore construction support services provider, with a focus on renewable energy, has named Frank Koopman offshore wind strategy director.

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) appointed and approved the 2024-2025 term of the NOIA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Jon Landes, president of Subsea with TechnipFMC, has been elected as the NOIA chair, and Joe Leimkuhler, COO of Beacon Offshore Energy, has been selected as the incoming NOIA vice chair. 

Robert (Rob) Black has been appointed a nonexecutive director of Carnarvon Energy Ltd. Consequent to the appointment of Black, Gavin Ryan has stepped down from the board. In addition, effective July 1, Black will assume the role of chair from the current chair, William (Bill) Foster, who will remain on the board as a nonexecutive director.

Dennis McShane has stepped down as an independent nonexecutive director and chair of Jadestone Energy's board, resulting in the board electing Adel Chaouch as chair.

William Ng is the new Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) member engagement manager for Southeast Asia. His role at LEEA is to audit and engage with the members in Southeast Asia and some of the nearby countries such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition, he will be promoting LEEA standards to the relevant companies and government agencies within this region.

Satelytics, a provider of automated cloud-based geospatial analytics, has announced that David Skidmore has joined its board in an advisory role. Skidmore has been an energy executive for more than 35 years, holding positions across all major businesses of bp.

Westerton Access, a provider of specialist inspection, maintenance and integrity services to the energy market, has appointed Louis Pietranek, formerly vice president of business development, to the company’s board and he has been named managing director.

PXGEO has acquired Modus Subsea Services, expanding its subsea offerings. Modus Subsea Services is a provider of offshore life-of-field support services specializing in autonomous subsea operations using underwater intervention drones.

ABL, energy and marine consultants, has expanded its European presence with a new office in Constanta, Romania, to support the Black Sea region’s offshore energy and maritime markets.  

SLB and ChampionX Corp. have formed a definitive agreement for SLB to purchase ChampionX in an all-stock transaction. The agreement was unanimously approved by the ChampionX board of directors. Read more. 

Enauta’s board has approved the submission of a merger proposal to 3R Petroleum Óleo e Gás. According to the company, the combined group would be one of the largest and most diversified oil and gas independents in Latin America with a five-year high organic growth portfolio. Read more. 

PipeSense, the provider of advanced continuous pipeline monitoring technology, has opened the doors of two testing facilities in Houston, Texas, and Clearbrook, Minnesota. With the aim of pursuing new R&D opportunities, the facilities will provide PipeSense’s engineering team the ability to pursue technological advancements by testing its pipeline monitoring and leak detection solutions in practical, real-world conditions.  

Acteon Group, an offshore energy infrastructure services business, has been acquired by private equity investors Buckthorn Partners and One Equity Partners (OEP). Read more. 

Dril-Quip and Innovex Downhole Solutions, a supplier of well life-cycle technologies and services, have agreed to merge via an all-stock transaction. Read more. 

SLB has formed an agreement to combine its carbon capture business with Aker Carbon Capture to support accelerated industrial decarbonization at scale. The transaction is expected to close by the end of second-quarter 2024. Read more. 

Hanwha Oceans’ Offshore Business division, currently headquartered in Seoul, Korea, recently expanded its global footprint by establishing new Global Business Centers in North America and Europe. The company said the goal is to offer enhanced project execution and knowledge-driven operational models by bridging the upstream culture of three continents across Asia, Europe and America.

PD&MS Group plans to launch a new returners program to help STEM professionals in Scotland who have had a career break return to the industry. In partnership with STEM Returners, PD&MS will host the program at their sites in Aberdeen and Glasgow where roles will include control and instrument designer, piping designer, process engineer and structural designer.

Archer Ltd. has acquired 65% of Vertikal Services AS, a Norwegian energy services company established in 2003.
