ABERDEEN, UK -- Rubberatkins’ Explosive Decompression (ED)-resistant fluroelastomer compound has achieved NORSOK M710 accreditation for Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD). The company also has gained NORSOK M710 accreditation for its HNBR anti-extrusion material for H2S service.
Developed by the Norwegian oil and gas industry, the NORSOK M710 accreditation is designed to qualify non-metallic (polymer) sealing, seat, and back-up materials for subsea use. The tests evaluate performance and life expectancy of a seal in different applications. Accreditation by NORSOK demonstrates chemical compatibility and rapid gas decompression resistance.
“This accreditation gives our products the quality stamp of approval, the NORSOK M710 accreditation is widely recognized as a very tough test,” says Nick Atkins, director of Rubberatkins. “Achieving this approval raises awareness of our technical expertise in compound development and our ability to manufacture products which will perform in a range of extreme environments.”
