HOUSTON -- CRC-Evans Automatic Welding has unveiled the P625 dual-torch external automatic welding machine for small-diameter offshore and spoolbase applications.
The P625 is fully digital, with through-the-arc tracking and pulse MIG to maximize speed and produce the highest quality welds. Human error is taken out of the welding process because computerized monitoring and control keep the torch and bead in perfect position, CRC-Evans says.
The P625 allows software to be upgraded in the field, so that changes in weld parameters can be made on the fly, getting the machine back to work quickly. In the office, a PDA user can program parameters and then download them wirelessly to the P625 on the job. Or data can be uploaded to a PDA in the field and taken back to the office for analysis and reporting. The P625 is also designed with scalable architecture that will accommodate future innovations, so that it can always be updated with the latest technology.
