VAALCO completes entry to Baobab field offshore Côte d’Ivoire

HOUSTON — VAALCO Energy has closed its acquisition of Stockholm-based Svenska Petroleum Exploration for $40.2 million.

Svenska’s main asset is a 27.39% stake in the Canadian Natural Resources-operated Baobab Field in Block CI-40 offshore Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa.

Following a recent maintenance shutdown, the field is back on production.

VAALCO sees upside potential future development opportunities.
