KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Ramunia Holdings Bhd. has allocated $58.5 million to upgrade its Teluk Ramunia yard in peninsular Malaysia to handle deepwater projects.
The 12-hectare (170-acre) yard has the capacity to fabricate up to 30,000 metric tons (33,069 tons) per year.
Daniel Ahn Chung-Sung, Ramunia's new managing director, says the yard's active participation in Malaysia's deepwater development will support its future bids for deepwater projects in Asia and the Middle East.
Azizul Rahman Abdul Samad Ramunia, company chairman, said in Kuala Lumpur on April 25 that Ramunia is bidding for $2.6 billion worth of Malaysian and international projects in addition to its current order book of about $400 million.
