BIRKENHEAD, UK – Petrofac has extended by three years Survitec’s contract to supply aviation immersion suits and lifejackets to personnel in the UK North Sea.

This is for helicopter journeys to three platforms in the southern gas basin from Norwich Airport on the English east coast.

Petrofac manages all three platforms. Around 3,000 passengers a year make the 20-minute transfer between the airport and the three locations.

Survitec will continue to supply 1000 series immersion suits, Mk50 lifejackets with CA-EBS (compressed air emergency breathing system), personal locator beacons and armbands.

The lifejackets are worn over the immersion suits and meets EASA requirements relating to helicopter constant-wear lifejackets and life preservers. An emergency breathing system is integrated into the jacket.
