HOUSTON -- BP has contracted AMEC to provide engineering services for the Tubular Bells and Kodiak discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico.

AMEC is evaluating several potential development options for selection of a preferred project option to advance into front-end engineering design (FEED), which provides an opportunity to influence overall cost, weight, schedule and facility performance at the early stages of the project, according to AMEC.

This contract is AMEC's first deepwater work to be executed under its global agreement with BP for offshore engineering and project management services.
