ABB, ZPMC to develop propulsion solutions for deepwater vessels

ZURICH, Switzerland -- ABB has signed an agreement with Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) to jointly develop more efficient propulsion solutions for deepwater vessels.
The companies will focus on vessels with relatively deep operating draught, such as heavy carriers or drilling platforms. ABB's Compact Azipod technology will be included in the solution, the companies say.
