Joint venture to pursue Saudi rig fabrication

DUBAI, UAE – Engineering contractor Lamprell is forming a joint venture with Saudi energy services provider Shoaibi Group and Saudi logistics specialist Al Yusr Townsend and Bottum.

Lamprell Arabia will be based in Al Khobar in eastern Saudi Arabia. It will offer newbuild fabrication, ancillary fabrication for Saudi offshore rigs, and refurbishment and repair of Saudi land rigs.

The partners aim to open a workshop in the recently built Shoaibi Group Oil and Gas Park in the Industrial Village zone in Dammam.

Lamprell has been in partnership with the other two companies since 2001 via theMaritime Industrial Services Arabia Co (MIS Arabia) joint venture, which provides fabrication services for pressure vessels, columns and other process equipment.
