Located about 175 km offshore mid-Norway in about 350 m of water, the Heidrun Field development concept includes the world’s largest floating concrete tension-leg platform, according to Equinor.
Equinor and Shell have chosen Adura as the name for their new joint E&P venture on the UK Continental Shelf.
The partners say the combined operation will create the UK North Sea’s largest independent oil and gas producer.
The name, Equinor said, was designed to reflect their respective heritage while also focusing on the basin’s future in the coming years. Adura combines the A of Aberdeen, the UK's North Sea operations center and energy capital, with the "dura" of durability. It signifies a company built on firm foundations, Equinor added, much like the granite buildings the city is known for.
The new company will be based at the Silver Fin building in the city center.
