ABERDEEN, UK – Marine Scotland has awarded two marine licenses to support Aberdeen Harbor’s plans to expand its facilities into Nigg Bay, south of the existing harbor.
The licenses, issued under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010, cover construction and dredging operations and form part of a wider consenting strategy.
This included planning permission in principle, awarded by Aberdeen City Council in May, and a harbor revision order, submitted to the Scottish parliament last month and which must be approved before going forward.
If final approval does follow, the resulting development should help northeast Scotland remain the focus of thesupply chain and decommissioning activity in Scotland, Marine Scotland said.
