HOUSTON – RPSEA has released a strategic plan for 2016 and beyond for managing and growing the organization’s capacity to conduct research on the biggest technical challenges facing the oil and gas industry.
Under the plan, RPSEA will continue to use itstechnical advisory committees to identify research needs and create and manage teams to perform critical research, expand the scope of its environmental and safety committee, and establish regulatory and investor committees.
RPSEA also says that it will pursue broader sources of funding for projects and will continue to pursue government funding through various state and federal agencies. It is also pursuing new project opportunities with individual energy companies, joint industry projects, foundations, and not-for-profits.
The strategic plan streamlines the organization by merging multiple programs into two areas, onshore and offshore. The organization says it will focus on its connections with exploration and production companies, which offer experts, test sites, and support for projects.
