    The semisubmersible West Phoenix has spudded an appraisal well on the Verbier oil discovery in the UK central North Sea.

    LONDON – The semisubmersible West Phoenix has spudded an appraisal well on the Verbier oil discovery in the UK central North Sea.

    Operator Equinor UK’s estimate following the initial discovery was in the range of 25-130 MMboe. According to partnerJersey Oil & Gas, the aim of the current campaign is to refine the potential volume range.

    Results should be issued by mid-year.

    The location is in the P2170 license. CIECO V&C (UK) is the other partner.
