    North Sea Verbier well scheduled for early next year

    Equinor has informed partner Jersey Oil & Gas that appraisal drilling of the Verbier oil discovery in the UK North Sea will get under way in 1Q 2019.

    LONDON – Equinor has informed partner Jersey Oil & Gas that appraisal drilling of the Verbier oil discovery in the UK North Sea will get under way in 1Q 2019.

    The semisubmersibleWest Phoenix, scheduled to drill the well, is presently working on the first of four wells of a drilling campaign for Equinor.

    Verbier, discovered in 2017, is in block 20/5b in license P.2170 in the UK central sector. Equinor at the time estimated recoverable resources in the range of 25-130 MMboe.

    The purpose of the planned appraisal well is to firm up the potential volume range.
