ABERDEEN, UKRotech Subsea has won two contracts for work offshore Saudi Arabia.

The first program for the subsea excavation contractor – cable post-trenching – involved mobilization from Aberdeen of the TRS1-LD tool. This was followed by collection by the client from Rotech’s fabrication yard.

Rotech Subsea’s other job is a 42-in. pipeline post-trenching and remedial program with theTRS2 tool shipped alongside the TRS1-LD.

The company has now decided to speed up its plans to set up a permanent base in the Middle East, under which the TRS1, TRS1-LD, and TRS2 tools will be kept in-region.

Stephen Cochrane, Rotech’s director of Subsea, said: “Demand for our range of cutting edge-controlled flow excavation tools in the Middle East was strong last financial year and shows no sign of abating.

“We’ve been inundated with enquiries for our tools, including our TRS1-LD system for shallow water projects – which is the most powerful tool on the market – and anticipate busy times ahead in the region.”
