STAVANGER, Norway – Equinor has contracted Aquaterra Energy to provide well construction operations for the Johan Sverdrup project in the North Sea.
As an early-stage development, Equinor sought a comprehensive solution (Aquaterra’s Well Start) to aid pre-drilling operations, and a subsequent platform tieback to minimize time to first oil.
The contractor will supply nine strings of centralizers, associated equipment and tieback engineering.
Well Start is designed to handle all early well construction activities including third-party interfaces, engineering, and equipment.
Aquaterra Energy will manage the program this summer from its headquarters in Norwich, UK, and its recently opened office in Stavanger.
