KCA drilling duty extended at Ringhorne in the North Sea

Point Resources has extended KCA Deutag’s drilling contract on the Ringhorne platform in the Norwegian North Sea by four years, with options for two further two-year extensions.

ABERDEEN, UKPoint Resources has extended KCA Deutag’s drilling contract on the Ringhorne platform in the Norwegian North Sea by four years, with options for two further two-year extensions.

The contractor has worked on the platform since it was first commissioned by original operatorExxonMobil in 2002.

Currently KCA Deutag is responsible for the management of drilling and maintenance operations on 32 platforms and two Gusto CJ70 jackups.

Earlier this month Statoil awarded the company a new drilling contract on five platforms serving the Oseberg and Kvitebjørn fields in the North Sea.
