Subsea 7 contracts Corinth for linepipe for two offshore Norway tiebacks

Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry has signed agreements with Subsea 7 to supply steel pipes for two Aker BP-operated subsea tieback projects to FPSOs offshore Norway.

MAROUSSI, Greece – Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry has signed agreements with Subsea 7 to supply steel pipes for two Aker BP-operated subsea tieback projects to FPSOs offshore Norway.

The delivery will comprise polypropylene coated steel outer pipes for pipe-in-pipe flowlines for:

  • TheSkogul tieback to the Alvheim FPSO in the North Sea: 14-in. linepipe for an 18-km (11.2-mi) gas pipeline
  • The Aerfugl tieback to the Skarv FPSO in the Norwegian Sea: 16-in. linepipe for a 21-km (13-mi) gas pipeline.

Corinth will manufacture the pipes this year at its pipe mill in Thisvi, Greece. Subsea 7 will install them via the reel-lay method during 2019 and 2020.
