MONACOSBM Offshore says client interest is growing in its Fast4Ward program for FPSOs.

This is said to provide an optimized design with standard specifications which results in lower cost, higher quality and productivity, with reduced safety exposure, and helps accelerate first oil by up to 12 months.

Last year, SBM ordered its first standard newbuild, multi-purpose hull, and adds that the scope of its Fast4Ward topsides offering has expanded. Clients are looking at integrating the Fast4Ward concept into their development plans and front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies.

Looking ahead, SBM expects thedeepwater oil and gas market to continue to recover based on improved break-even prices for large field developments, and improved client confidence in long-term returns from their offshore projects.

There is growing demand for FEED scope aimed at optimizing project returns so that final investment decisions can be taken, it adds, and it maintains that deepwater developments have a significant role to play in the world’s future energy mix.
