Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) has contracted Cadeler to transport and install wind turbines for the Formosa wind farm offshore Taiwan.

One of Cadeler’s next-generation M-Class wind turbine installation vessels will manage the program, the company said in an Aug. 21 news release. It covers 35 Siemens Gamesa 14-MW wind turbines.

Transportation and installation (T&I) operations are due to start in March 2028 and continue for about 150 days. Cadeler expects to book revenues in the range EUR70 million to EUR80 million (US$82 million to US$93.7 million).

It follows a reservation agreement announced by the company last September for two offshore wind projects in the region; negotiations continue for the second project.

Formosa 4 is 18 km to 20 km offshore Miaoli County, covering a 58-sq-km area. The turbines will be installed in water depths from 57 m to 64 m, with a total power output of 495 MW.

Earlier this month, DFO reported it will provide a new offshore wind service operations vessel for SRE Group. The new service operations vessel (SOV) will support SRE’s Formosa 4 offshore wind project off Taiwan.
