NORTH PERTH, Australia — Geoquip Marine Operations’ DP2 offshore survey vessel has completed a geotechnical survey over the Anning and Somerville gas fields platform and pipeline locations in the UK southern North Sea for Hartshead Resources and Rock Rose.
According to Hartshead, all objectives were achieved with four rock cores recovered, comprising one 30-m core and one 50-m core from each location.
These will undergo laboratory analysis to provide the soils information needed for design of the platform anchor point and to confirm requirements for positioning the jackup drilling rig over the platforms for well operations.
An initial review of the data suggests both locations are suitable for platform and drilling rig operations, Hartshead added. Despite rough sea conditions, the vessel completed the survey in less than 12 days.
