NORTH PERTH, Australia — Hartshead Resources has started a prequalification process for the platform and jacket EPCI contract for its Anning and Somerville gas fields development in the UK southern North Sea.
The process is partly designed to confirm the capabilities of interested parties in providing a suitable facilities solution and installation package and identify any critical long lead bulk/equipment items.
Hartshead has drawn up an initial list of eight contractors based in the UK and EU with a track record in southern gas basin fabrication, and it expects to issue an "Invitation to Tender" during the second quarter.
The contract award should take place this summer, following completion of the Phase I development FEED and geotechnical site survey of the platform locations.
Hartshead also revealed it has become a member of the industry association Offshore Energies UK.
