NORTH PERTH, Australia  GEOxyz’s Geo Ocean III vessel has completed a geophysical survey over the Anning and Somerville gas fields and planned interfield pipeline locations in the southern UK North Sea for operator Hartshead Resources.

Main aims were to provide an interpretation of the seabed geomechanical and engineering conditions and an environmental baseline survey and habitat assessment.

The program involved an analogue and 2D high resolution survey over a 1,000 x 1,000 m square box centered on the Anning and Somerville jacket locations; a more detailed 400 x 400 m analogue survey to support emplacement of the jackets; and onshore and offshore laboratory testing of seabed samples collected during sampling operations.

Results will form part of the Environmental Statement for the submission of the field development plan and will also support FEED for the jacket design verification process.

Hartshead is aiming to take FID on the project this summer. Its proposed phased development involves exporting production from the two fields to Shell’s Corvette and Leman A platforms.
