    Leiv Eiriksson gets clearance to spud Bjaaland well in Barents Sea

    OMV Norge has permission from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.

    OSLO, Norway – OMV Norge has permission from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.

    The semisubmersibleLeiv Eiriksson will drill well 7324/8-2 in production license 537 on the Bjaaland structure.

    Drilling is expected to begin next month and could continue for 47 days, depending on the outcome.
