STAVANGER, Norway — Longboat JAPEX expects the Kjøttkake/Lotus exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea to spud this summer, using the Deepsea Yantai semisub.

The prospect, close to the Kveikje discovery and northwest of the Troll oil field, has estimated prospective resources of 27 MMboe with upside at 44 MMboe. Equinor is working on plans for a multi-field cluster development in the area.

Longboat JAPEX has also been a partner to Equinor in the Statfjord satellites in the North Sea. Here, three new wells have been completed with gas-lift installed. A further two wells should go online in the next few months.
