Allseas begins construction of heavy-transport vessel for offshore megaprojects

Guangzhou Shipyard International has started building Allseas' new Grand Tour heavy-transport vessel, designed to move ultra-large offshore structures and transfer them directly to Pioneering Spirit for installation.

Why this news matters:

  • The vessel is designed to transport some of the industry's largest offshore structures, including next-generation 2-GW offshore wind converter platforms.

  • Its ability to fit within the bow slot of Pioneering Spirit could streamline offshore installation logistics and reduce project complexity.
