DOF secures option to purchase anchor handler

A Norwegian limited company, not owned by DOF, has entered into a management agreement with an unnamed Norwegian company to operate the newly acquired anchor handling tug supply vessel Far Shogun, currently owned by Farstad Supply.

STOREBØ, Norway – A Norwegian limited company, not owned by DOF, has entered into a management agreement with an unnamed Norwegian company to operate the newly acquired anchor handling tug supply vessel Far Shogun, currently owned by Farstad Supply.

Delivery is set for some time between mid-June and mid-July.

DOF also has an option to purchase the vessel at a price corresponding to the outstanding debt, or around 50-60% of historical build costs. Following the takeover it will be renamedSkandi Bergen.

The vessel has operated in the Asia/Pacific region but can also be deployed in the South American or Atlantic regions.

In a separated development, DOF Subsea has won a contract to install moorings for an FPSO in the UK North Sea. It will deploy theSkandi Skansen and various anchor handlers from its fleet for the program.
