STOREBØ, Norway – DOF has signed an agreement with Olympic Shipping concerning the purchase of two offshore vessels, the Olympic Commander and Olympic Hera.

The Norwegian contractor has an accord with the new owner that involves management and operation of the two vessels, with an option to purchase both at a price corresponding to around 50-60% of historical build costs.

DOF will deploy the subsea vessel Olympic Commander, to be renamed Skandi Darwin, for the Shell Prelude IMR contract offshore northwest Australia.

TheOlympic Hera, an anchor handling tug supply and offshore construction vessel, will be renamed Skandi Hera.

DOF CEO Mons S. Aase said: “Skandi Hera is a strategically important addition to our fleet. She can serve both as an AHTS vessel and a subsea vessel, and since most of our similar vessels are on long-term contracts in Brazil, she will give us good exposure to the same markets in other regions.”
