HOUSTON -- Atwood Oceanics' semisubmesible Richmond is scheduled for a $15-million life enhancement upgrade. The rig will enter the shipyard following completion of its current commitment with Helis Oil & Gas in the Gulf of Mexico.
The 60-day upgrade is estimated to begin by early October. According to Atwood, the upgrade will extend the depreciable life of the rig by seven years.
Atwood will drill one more well for Helis following the shipyard stint.
