Petra to build two vessels

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Petra Perdana Berhad has placed a $31-million order for two new offshore support vessels with a Malaysian shipyard.

The Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. will deliver the first vessel in Jan. 2009 and the second unit in March 2009.

The newbuilds are part of the ongoing fleet renewal plan Petra is pursuing to meet the rising demand for services from the offshore oil and gas industry, the company says.
