LEIDEN, Netherlands -- Heerema Marine Contractors' deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Balder incurred damage to its DP system while working on a job in the Gulf of Mexico. The incident occurred on Dec. 28.
The vessel is being repaired and is expected to re-start on its GoM commitment in mid-February.
The contractor's other DCVThialf is en route to the Gulf from Brazil to assist on the project while Balder is being repaired. Thialf is expected to arrive in the GoM in February.
