FPSOcean acquires vessels for conversion

FPSOcean has acquired the Nordic Laurita shuttle tanker and the Semakau Spirit Aframax tanker for conversion into deepwater dynamically positioned FPSOs.

OSLO, Norway -- FPSOcean has acquired the Nordic Laurita shuttle tanker and the Semakau Spirit Aframax tanker for conversion into deepwater dynamically positioned FPSOs.

TheNordic Laurita, to be renamed the DeeP Producer 1, is scheduled for completion by 1Q 2008 and is expected to be ready for first oil by 2Q 2008, FPSOcean says.

TheSemakau Spirit will be renamed DeeP Producer 2. Dubai Drydocks is expected to begin the conversion in the first half of 2008.

FPSOcean is working to develop a fleet of four to six deepwater FPSOs over a period of five to six years, the company says.
