BRISTOL, UK -- Nortechs FPSO Pte. Ltd. has awarded process system integrator DPS (Bristol) Ltd. a contract to design and supply the process module for the East Fortune "generic FPSO."
Late in 2006, Nortechs announced it would build three FPSOs that would be ready for production from 3Q 2007 and 3Q 2008. Each vessel was to be equipped with generic process plants designed for a broad range of process requirements.
TheEast Fortune is the first of these units. It will have 30,000 b/d oil production capacity with the option to increase its capability to 50,000 b/d. The process module also offers three-stage separation, produced water treatment, and chemical injection systems.
"This is another exciting and challenging project for DPS, reflecting the depth of offshore experience and expertise the DPS team have accrued over many years." says Neil Young DPS managing director. "The global desire to exploit marginal fields has seen a general rise in interest for 'generic FPSOs', although turning concepts into reality is far from simple. That said, this is an area in which DPS excel and this project in particular represents exactly what DPS have to offer in terms of the provision of economically viable and flexible processing solutions using plug and play process modules and smart equipment design, engineered into the system at day one."
