SINGAPORE -- Preparatory work for Taisun's first commercial lift is under way at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in Shandong Province, China. The lift of the deckbox of COSL's semisubmersible COSLPioneer is scheduled for Nov. 22, contingent upon weather conditions.
On Nov. 10, the drilling equipment system (DES) for the rig was loaded out onto a launching barge and moved to the dry dock. Work is in progress to connect the distributed load line-bearing connectors from Taisun to the DES to facilitate its eventual lowering onto the deckbox once the deckbox load-out is complete, the company says.
